As we enter Week 3, our focus is on making every instructional day count and ensuring that our scholars continue to grow academically, socially, and personally.

As always, we appreciate the partnership between home and school. Together, we will continue to challenge, encourage, and support our scholars as they work toward reaching their fullest potential.

Athletic Update

A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our Rogers-Herr Rams Soccer Team!

What an incredible season! Our Rams battled their way to the CHAMPIONSHIP and left it ALL on the field in an intense overtime showdown against Brogden, falling just ONE point short of the title!

While the scoreboard may not have been in our favor, our Rams showed tremendous heart, determination, teamwork, and resilience! You fought until the very last second, and we could not be prouder!

Congratulations to our student-athletes and coaches on an OUTSTANDING season!

Attention 8th Grade Families: High School Is Right Around the Corner!

Rams Families, can you believe our 8th graders are already preparing for the next chapter of their educational journey? High school will be here before we know it, and now is the perfect time to begin exploring the many opportunities Durham Public Schools has to offer!

We encourage all of our 8th grade families to attend the DPS Showcase of Schools to learn more about high school options and find the best fit for your scholar's interests, strengths, and future goals.

DPS Showcase of Schools

  • Date: Saturday, November 14, 2026

  • Time: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

  • Location: Northern High School, 4622 N. Roxboro Street

During this event, families will have the opportunity to meet representatives from DPS schools, explore traditional and specialty high school programs, and learn more about early colleges, International Baccalaureate programs, career and technical education pathways, and other exciting opportunities. District staff will also be available to answer questions about school assignments, academics, and student support services.

Effective Communication 

Open and consistent communication between home and school is essential to every child’s success. If you have an immediate concern or question, we encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher first, as they are the primary point of contact and best positioned to address classroom-related matters.

Should additional support be needed after speaking with the teacher, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s grade-level administrator. We are here to partner with you to ensure the best possible experience for your child.
