Principal’s Update Week of: 9-6-26

We’re getting closer, Rams! In just TWO weeks, we will wrap up our first quarter and head into our first intersession of the school year!

These next two weeks are important. Let’s stay engaged, keep attendance a priority, complete assignments, and continue giving our best each day. There is still time to grow, improve, and make progress before we track out!

Families, we appreciate your continued support and partnership. Your encouragement at home makes a difference, and together, we are helping our Rams stay focused and continue to show that they are Built for Greatness!

Labor Day Reminder

In observance of Labor Day, Rogers-Herr Middle School and all DPS schools and offices will be closed on Monday, September 7. There will be no school for students or staff.

Data Release

We are proud to share the 2025–2026 school performance data for Rogers-Herr Middle School!

Our results reflect the hard work and dedication of our scholars, staff, families, and entire RAM community. While we celebrate our successes, we also recognize the opportunities ahead of us as we continue to grow, improve, and ensure every scholar reaches their full potential.

We are proud of the work happening at Rogers-Herr, and we know there is still more greatness ahead!

Take a look at our data using the link here.

Student Appreciation Week

Our wonderful PTA showed our Rams some extra love last week with a full calendar of treats and fun for Student Appreciation Week, August 31–September 4!

Our students work hard each day, and their week was all about celebrating THEM! Throughout the week, our Rams enjoyed freezer pops, Pop-It bracelets, ice cream sundaes, music in the gym, and fruit snacks.

We are so grateful for our amazing PTA and the many ways they continue to pour into our students and school community. Thank you, PTA, for making our Rams feel special, appreciated, and celebrated!

Showcase of Clubs

Thank you to all of our families who attended the RHMS Showcase of Clubs! We loved seeing our Ram Scholars explore the many ways to get involved at Rogers-Herr.

If you were unable to attend, check out our RHMS Club Directory for club descriptions, advisors, meeting days and times, start dates, and sign-up information.

Have questions? Please contact Coach Jasmine Adams or Ms. Nicole Peguese. We look forward to a great year of student involvement!

PTA Fundraiser

At the time of this message, we have raised just over $22,000 out of our $25,000 goal!  We are so close!!

Remember, we are raising funds for: student recognition, school events, staff appreciation, and continued advocacy for RHMS Families.

Our fundraising website will be open through Labor Day.  So please share with your friends and families as you celebrate the long weekend!  If students register and send 10 texts or emails, they can still earn cookie blankets and kindness passports and even more prizes!  We still  have squishy butter, squishy dumplings, speakers, and other fun prizes to give away.  At Rogers-Herr, it's Cool to be Kind!

Your donation helps the PTA sponsor events like Student Appreciation Week, which we just celebrated last week.

NJHS

Please join the Rogers-Herr National Junior Honor Society as they support Welcome Baby’s 3rd Annual Socktember Sock Drive!

Our Rogers-Herr community is collecting children’s socks (sizes Newborn through Children’s 9) to help Welcome Baby reach their goal of collecting 6,000 pairs of socks for local families.

Donation boxes will be located in each grade level hallway.

Collection dates: September 1 – September 16

Thank you in advance for coming together as a community to support both NJHS and Welcome Baby. Your generosity makes a big difference!

Effective Communication

Open and consistent communication between home and school is essential to every child’s success. If you have an immediate concern or question, we encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher first, as they are the primary point of contact and best positioned to address classroom-related matters.

Should additional support be needed after speaking with the teacher, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s grade-level administrator. We are here to partner with you to ensure the best possible experience for your child.

Problem solving early and often are among our top priorities. If you need help navigating this process, please do not hesitate to contact the main office at any time by dialing 919-560-3970.

Thank you for making Rogers-Herr an extraordinary place to learn, work and grow! We are looking forward to seeing all of our Ram Scholars Tuesday morning. As always, Rams ROCK!!!
