Virtual Tour of RHMS
Principal Rogers' Updates
Welcome Rogers-Herr family and friends! We appreciate you taking the time to visit our website. Please mark your calendars and note the following upcoming events and reminders.
Our AIG Parent Partnership Committee, Counseling Dept, and Administrative Team thank our parents, students, staff, and community members who came out last Wednesday night. Students practiced how to talk to a friend who is struggling emotionally. Parents learned about internet safety, the warning signs of depression, and where to turn for help if their child is struggling. We focus on the whole child at Rogers-Herr, take the social and emotional needs of our students seriously, and know by the turnout at this event just how much Rams ROCK.
Our Faculty & Staff Thanks You
Wednesday’s tailgate themed luncheon provided for our faculty & staff was delicious and enjoyed by all. A very special "thank you" goes out to Mrs. Barnes for leading these efforts. Your attention to detail, themes, warm & welcoming approach, and delicious lemon cake are appreciated! Parents, thank you for making our staff feel supported, appreciated, and valued. Your continued efforts mean more than you know! Our entire PTA team ROCKS!!! We are fortunate to have such supportive parents in in our school family.
By prioritizing your child's attendance, you increase their chances for academic success. Frequent absenteeism results in lost instruction. If an absence is necessary, please submit a signed note to the main office explaining the absence each time. DPS automatically sends you a letter if your child has six or more unexcused absences. To prevent this from happening to you, please submit a note to the main office each time your child is absent from school.
Band Next Year
6th graders who didn't take band this year and are interested in joining next year should see Ms. Cammon as soon as possible. Parents may reach her at 919.560.3970 x70260 or email@example.com.
This Week's Walk-Out
Our students took this week's protest seriously, acting responsibly and respectfully as our staff kept them safe. Students who participated in the walk-out were permitted stand or sit quietly on their hallway from 10:00-10:17am. Students who did not participate in the protest remained in their classrooms while their teachers continued teaching.

On school days, our doors open for students at 7am and the instructional day begins promptly at 7:30. Breakfast is served in the cafeteria from 7-7:20am. Students arriving after 7:30am go directly to the main office to sign in, get a tardy pass, and then go to class.
Car riders and bus riders are dismissed at 2:20pm, which is when the instructional day ends. Attendance is very important and contributes to student success. We depend on parents to ensure that our students are present and on time every day.

Re-Link Shopping Cards!
Did you know that last year we raised over $2,400 for our school by just linking our shopping cards at Target, Kroger and Harris Teeter to our school? All you need to do is go to customer service at your local Kroger or Harris Teeter and ask that they link (or re-link) your shopping card to our school. Both rewards programs run Aug–May each year and you MUST re-link your card to our school ID each year. Our Kroger School ID is 94484 and our Harris Teeter School ID is 3646. Our PTA can link your Harris Teeter card for you. Just email your last name and your HT card number or the phone number associated with your HT card to Susan Roux at email@example.com. We will do the rest!
Shoparoo is an app that lets you earn cash donations for your school, just by taking pictures of your shopping receipts! It's so easy! It doesn't matter where you shop, what you buy, or where you eat - every receipt counts! Grade levels compete for the most money raised. We just received a check from Shoparoo for $55!
