Communications

Publicize school support programs offered by grocery stories, retail chains and manufacturers such as Box Tops for Education and product labels from Tysons. Coordinate collection, organize and submit items to vendor for reimbursement. Volunteers help collect, cut, trim, and sort items.

ESL Family Outreach

Plan, organize and coordinate activities that reach out to families who are not native English speakers (ESL = English as a Second Language).

Moderate to high time commitment

Fundraising

Organize fundraisers, usually in the fall. Volunteers help with counting money and any product distribution.

Hospitality

Plan, organize, publicize and coordinate appreciation activities for teachers & staff, bus drivers, cafeteria and custodial workers, and other events as appropriate throughout the year.

Spring Fling

THIS POSITION IS OPEN!

Spring Fling: Plan and coordinate activities for the Spring Fling, a school-wide celebration that takes place at the end of the school year, after End of Grade testing. Get parents involved as volunteers and work with fundraising team to engage with local businesses to support funding.

Little time commitment during the year until Fun Day.

Membership

THIS POSITION IS OPEN!

Membership Drive: Organize, publicize and coordinate PTA membership drive. Set up tables at school events to promote membership. Copy, sort and distribute membership envelopes and letters to teacher mailboxes for distribution to students.

Moderate to high time commitment in July and August

6th, 7th & 8th Grade Membership Liaisons: Assist overall chair. Promote PTA membership on grade level by including membership information in team newsletters. Gather parent emails from teachers to create reminders to parents. Encourage teacher membership in PTA. Assist at the membership table at school functions.

 

Proctors

THIS POSITION IS OPEN!

Develop and maintain a list of volunteers who are able to serve as proctors for standardized testing. Act as liaison between proctors and staff.
